AI application in medical care and treatment in Ho Chi Minh City

In recent years, hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City have been actively applying artificial intelligence (AI) in patient treatment, opening up new opportunities to improve the quality of healthcare services. The application of AI not only helps reduce costs, save time, but also increases accuracy and effectiveness in diagnosis and treatment, thereby enhancing the quality of healthcare at medical facilities.Increasing accuracy in radiation therapy with AI One of the notable achievements in AI application in Ho Chi Minh City is the use of AI in radiation therapy planning at the Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital. According to Dr. Lam Duc Hoang, Head of the head and neck radiation oncology department , the use of Raysearch software integrated with AI has optimized the radiation therapy planning process, increasing accuracy and minimizing risks in cancer treatment. Previously, doctors had to spend about 4 hours analyzing and planning radiation therapy for patients, but with AI, this process takes only 2-3 minutes. AI quickly analyzes CT scan results and identifies the patient's structures, helping doctors create more accurate treatment plans. Not only does AI save time for doctors, but it also shortens patients' waiting times. Typically, radiation therapy planning takes 5-10 days, but with AI support, this time is reduced to just 2-3 days. This not only helps patients save time but also improves their quality of life, reducing stress during the treatment process.Bringing AI to areas with limited healthcare resourcesAn important advancement is the application of AI in areas with limited healthcare resources to remote health monitoring. Health stations in remote areas, such as Can Gio district, have implemented AI in X-ray image diagnosis for lung diseases. Thanh An commune health station in Can Gio district was the first in the country to deploy AI for diagnosis and remote monitoring of patients via telemedicine technology. Through this system, doctors at health stations can consult with leading specialists in Ho Chi Minh City, enabling timely and accurate treatment plans. This not only helps reduce the burden on central hospitals but also improves healthcare quality for people in remote areas.Thanh An Commune Health Station, Can Gio applies AI in medical treatmentHealthcare kiosk deployment in Vinh Long provinceA prime example of applying technology in community healthcare is the Healthcare Kiosk project implemented by TMA in Vinh Long Province. On September 23, 2024, TMA and its hardware partner collaborated with the Department of Health of Vinh Long Province to carry out a community health project aimed at monitoring and screening stroke risks for residents of An Phuoc Commune, Mang Thit District.Healthcare Kiosk Deployment in Vinh Long provinceThis project leverages intelligent algorithms and real-time data analysis to collect and process health information through integrated kiosks. As a result, the system can detect abnormalities and promptly notify doctors at the local health center for timely intervention. Moreover, these kiosks not only support health screening but also help triage and transfer severe cases to higher-level hospitals, enhancing the efficiency of healthcare services. Serving over 3,000 residents, the project not only utilizes AI to improve diagnostic accuracy but also demonstrates the potential for large-scale application in remote communities. It marks a significant step forward in bringing smart healthcare closer to the general population, contributing to improved health care quality while opening new possibilities for community-wide health initiatives. The application of AI in healthcare offers significant opportunities for Vietnamese companies, particularly in improving healthcare quality and optimizing treatment processes. However, to fully leverage this potential, businesses must face challenges in developing technological resources, improving infrastructure, and training specialized human resources, while also building effective collaboration between the government, hospitals, and enterprises.Source: Trung tam bao chi TP.HCM

AI Driving Sustainable Agriculture in Vietnam

As climate change intensifies and food security becomes increasingly critical, applying artificial intelligence (AI) in Vietnam’s agriculture sector is opening up new ways to boost productivity and improve quality. AI is more than just a technological trend; it’s becoming a cornerstone for sustainable agriculture, bringing Vietnam closer to global competitiveness.AI technology is sparking innovation across farming practices. With AI-driven soil analysis, farmers can measure key factors like pH, moisture, and nutrient levels, allowing them to optimize crop care, improve yields, and boost quality. Additionally, AI supports more accurate weather forecasting, helping farmers better time their irrigation and harvests to reduce losses from natural disasters and environmental shifts. While the benefits of AI are clear, integrating it still poses challenges. Many rural and mountainous areas lack the technology infrastructure to fully access AI. To tap into AI’s potential in agriculture, there’s a need for specialized training for farmers and updated policies that support tech integration in line with industry trends.AI is quickly proving essential to modernizing agriculture. For this technology to create lasting, sustainable change, AI solutions need to be affordable and user-friendly, so farmers of all scales can benefit. By making AI accessible, we’re building a sustainable, fair agricultural future for everyone.Source: ictvietnam.vn
